Listen to Dr. Bentkover discuss cosmetic laser treatments. |

I teach middle school at a private school and have a tattoo on my arm. A number of parents have “politely” asked about the tattoo. Also, I am getting married and want to wear a strapless gown. It is almost gone, just in time for my wedding. ~ S

Stuart H. Bentkover, MD, FACS
Originally from the Chicago area, Dr. Bentkover began practice in Central Massachusetts in 1979, after residency training at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston. He is Board Certified by two specialty boards: the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat). A graduate of Princeton University and The Mount Sinai School of Medicine (New York City), he is on the faculties of Harvard Medical School and UMass Medical School.
Dr. Bentkover is a Fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He is a founding member and Historian of the New England Facial Plastic Surgery Society. Dr. Bentkover also participates in the Face to Face program of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Through this program he donates his time to consult and operate on the victims of domestic violence.
With over 20 years experience in cosmetic laser surgery, Dr. Bentkover currently uses 7 different lasers in his practice. He treats facial wrinkles and scars, facial and leg veins (including "spider veins"), Port Wine stains, excessive facial and body hair in women and men, tattoos, and brown spots. He added tattoo removal to his list of treatments in 2002, after many of his existing laser patients requested this type of treatment. Because he has two different lasers for tattoo removal, Dr. Bentkover can treat most colors, including black, blue, brown, green, red, yellow and orange.
Dr. Bentkover is frequently invited to lecture to physicians and public groups. He has lectured at national and international meetings such as The World Congress on Rhinoplasty, The Rhinoplasty Society, the Seventh International Symposium of Facial Plastic Surgery, and the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology. He has also appeared several times on television in Worcester, Fitchburg and Leominster to discuss new innovations in cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Bentkover is happily married and the father of three. He enjoys indoor cycle exercising (spinning), biking, skiing, model railroading (when he has time) and reading. He is an accomplished trumpet player, having played since age 7, and especially enjoys big band jazz.
